24/10/2008 - First 2008/09 social

Thanks for turning up at Sunday’s initial social at Stag's Head, it was great to see so many new faces! We are holding another social on Friday the 24th October in the Hobbit pub. It's a great live-music pub, located in Bevois Valley, not very far from the University (see the map). There's always a band playing live on Friday evening, so come around and meet us there! If the weather is fine we will be sitting outside, in the beer garden. Otherwise we should be there early enough, to keep a few tables for SUPS members. Look for the Polish flag, we start around 7pm!

28/11/2007 - Term General Meeting

We are holding a Term General Meeting on 28/11/2007. The meeting takes place in Committee Room on level 2 of the Student's Union (building 42). The meeting starts at 15:15 and won't take more than one hour! Please make an effort and come, as some important issues will be discussed and new committee members are going to be elected.

How to get there: when you come into the main susu building through the sliding door, turn slightly to your right and go straight ahead towards the doors behind which you should find a staircase. Go downstairs to level 2 and go through the doors. Then turn right and you should see doors labeled "Accountancy Office". Go through them as well, then turn right and the Committee Room will be at the end of the corridor. At last!

11/11/2007 - Independence Day

A social to symbolically celebrate Polish Independence Day and - informally - the political end of one of the twin brothers. This time we're meeting at the comfy sofas of Stags Head since everyone knows where it is. We're starting at 3pm, so come around, no excuses!

21/10/2007 - Parliamentary election

The early parliamentary election day was settled for Sunday 21/10/2007. All Polish citizens can vote in Southampton as well as in London. All you need to do is to register with Polish Consulate by filling a form.
On Sunday we meet at the Highfield Interchange at 12:00 pm, from where we head to the Polish Centre (507 Portswood Road Southampton SO17 2TH).

04/10/2007 - Freshers' Social

And there we are...Another year at the uni starts! And as the first week is traditionally dedicated to socialising and drinking, this is what we are gonna do! Thursday after BunFight therefore, will give us all opportunity to meet up after 4 months of holidays (!!!) and welcome all the newbies!! We’re meeting up at Hobbit at 5pm. For those who are just joining us- you shouldn’t really have problems with spotting the group of Polish people, but if so, there’ll be a flag somewhere around for sure?. And for those, who don’t speak Polish- no worries, we won’t left you alienated!! See you there!

03/05/2007 - Constitution of May 3 anniversary

In Poland, this day is a public holiday to celebrate the anniversary of passing the second in the world and first in Europe national constitution.

Further details of this event will be updated soon.

04/03/2007 - Traditional Polish Dinner

As most of you already know, there is a new (and the only!) Polish restaurant in Southampton! Therefore to keep our Sunday tradition we have visited the place and enjoyed dinner in SUPS members' circle. There were nine of us, including Professor Jan Sykulski and Dr Elżbieta Sykulska.

15/02/2007 - Fat Thursday

Traditional Polish feast before Lunt. We intended to buy some traditional Polish "pączki", but they were sold out before we arrived at shop. Instead, we celebrated the feast with some German cakes and doughnuts.

26/01/2007 - After Exams Party

We followed international tradition of an informal meeting after the exams (pass it, then drink and forget). Greetings to the local shop!!
